SCCS is now UKAS accredited to offer UKCA certification under BS EN ISO / IEC 17065 (Products, Processes and Services Certification)

The SCCS recently undertook a thorough accreditation audit by UKAS to achieve Accreditation to BS EN ISO/IEC 17065:2012 – Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services. This new accreditation standard will allow SCCS to continue certifying clients for both UKCA and CE+UKNI marking, which was previously undertaken against BS EN ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems.

“This extension of SCCS’s offering ensures its clients are prepared and have the appropriate certification required from April 2023 where UKAS will now longer accept 17021 accreditation for UKCA marking” said SCCS Director of Certification Stephen Blackman.

The SCCS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the British Constructional Steelwork Association. It was established in the early 1980s to provide quality management certification for steelwork contracting organisations.
