The Steel Construction Certification Scheme (SCCS) is the UKAS Accredited Certification Body (No. 0021) specifically for companies engaged in the design, fabrication and erection of constructional steelwork for all forms of industrial, commercial and administrative use such as bridges, power stations, factory buildings, transmission towers, airport buildings etc.

Who are we

SCCS is the Certification Body specifically for companies engaged in the design, manufacture and installation of structural steelwork and its associated products and services.

SCCS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the British Constructional Steelwork Association Ltd (BCSA). Its key objective is to secure high standards of excellence and quality across all processes, procedures and practices in the steelwork industry through independent certification to specific standards.

SCCS works closely with each of its clients, – currently over 600 – across the steel construction sector throughout the certification and auditing services using an established, clear, staged and structured process.

What we offer

SCCS have been providing Management Systems certification services for steelwork contracting organisations since it was established in 1989.

SCCS has developed certification and monitoring services for the steelwork contractors with integrated or separate Quality, Environment, Occupational Health & Safety and Welding Quality Management Systems and Factory Production Control Systems.
